Friday-June 12th: We drove to Huntsville today so we could leave Colton with Cory's parents. We had dinner at Los Perricos and then came home to put Colton to bed. After having a couple of margaritas that night I had a mini meltdown when putting him down for bed (I think I would have even without them though!). I was so worried that he would think I had abandoned him. Silly me!!
Saturday-June 13th (My 31st birthday!!!): We got up EARLY today to head to the airport!! We left the farm at 7am and caught our flight at 10:20am. The flight was only 2 1/2 hours so we landed at 11:59 (they are 1 hour behind us). We fought the crazy timeshare people on our way out to our transportation. They kept telling us that they were our driver, etc. Luckily Transcabo had told us about this and we just kept on walking all the way outside where our company had told us they would meet us. We loaded up and drove about 30 min to our resort. Our driver was so nice and gave us some history on areas that we passed. When we arrived at Hacienda del Mar we dropped our bags in the guest lounge and went to check in. We were a bit early and our room wasn't ready so we took a short walk around the property (only seeing part of it) and then decided to grab some lunch at Girasoles. It was here that we discovered 2 x 1 drinks!! In Cabo during happy hour then it is 2 x 1 but that means if I order a margarita then I get 2 at 1 time and the same for Cory ordering his beer--not a beer and a margarita counting 2 x 1. After lunch we got the keys to our room and spent the next few hours hanging out by the pool. Around 5:30 we got dressed and took the shuttle into Cabo San Lucas for dinner. We decided to try out The Office where our table was right on the beach! We had a wonderful dinner (minus the vendors who wanted to sell to us the first half of the meal) and then went back to the condo to get some rest.
Sunday-June 14: We decided to go ahead and attend the timeshare breakfast here at the resort to get some freebies. We had a delicious (free) breakfast and toured the property. Then after some major negotiating we ended up purchasing a time share in Cabo!!! We absolutley love the property and couldn't be happier with our purchase. One of our stipulations was that we wanted to be upgraded to a Presidential (2 BR) before Mat and Stephanie arrived on Monday. They didn't have any available so they just put them up in their own Luxury Suite (1 BR). We also got many other incentives but my favorite was 40% off at the spa every time we visit (including this week!). Afterwards we spent the afternoon hanging by the pool before making a trip into town to go to Walmart and Sam's. We decided we could save a little bit of money if we bought sodas, beer and water here rather than always at the pool. It was definitley an experience at Walmart and Sam's. Then we had dinner at De Cortez on the resort property. The waves were crashing so hard that we could feel them spray us from our table. Everyone kept telling us that the waves were abnormally hard right now.
Monday-June 15th: Today we woke up at 9am and spent the entire day by the pool. What an awesome way to spend the day!! Mat and Stephanie arrived at about 1pm and spent a few hours out at the pool with us before we had to get ready to head into town. We had reservations on the Cabo Mar for a sunset dinner cruise that evening. We had a great time on the boat--probably too good of a time!! We enjoyed MANY drinks, fajita dinner, beautiful sunset, and a view of the Arch (also better known as Land's End--the place were the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean). Afterwards we headed over for a few more drinks at Cabo Wabo. We were hoping that Sammy Hagar would make an appearance, but no such luck!
Tuesday-June 16th: The guys headed out to play the Ocean Course at Cabo del Sol while Stephanie and I spent the entire day lounging by the pool. Another great day!!! The waves were still pretty crazy and they weren't allowing anyone in the water so we didn't get to venture out to the ocean today. We decided to venture back into town that evening to do some shopping and have dinner. Mat and Cory stopped off at No Worry's for some beer and baseball while Stephanie did some souvenier shopping. We had reservations at Mi Casa at 8pm so we decided we would all just meet there. Stephanie and I made it just fine but somehow the guys ended up a bit lost along the way. According to them they were "in the hood". They ended up finding us and we all enjoyed a yummy dinner!! Mi Casa has a great atmosphere and is decorated in true Mexican decor with real trees growing up inside the restaurant. It is mostly open up top with shelter provided by palapas. We even had the mariachi band play for us. Funny story though while we were deciding what to eat these 2 really cute little blonde girls came up in between the guys and said "My daddy....(then they just started giggling)". The guys looked over and a guy they had played golf with that day was sitting at the table next to us. A few minutes later a round of beer came for us but we hadn't ordered any. Come to find out it was from him. He said he wanted to thank the guys for a great game because when you golf alone you never know who you will get stuck with and he was lucky to be put with them. He was a really nice guy and owns a restaurant called Culver's which we can't wait to try out in The Woodlands some time (I think he was from Indiana).
Wednesday-June 17: Today we decided to try out the buffet breakfast at Girasole's on the property. We were a bit confused at first because we didn't see any buffet tables. Come to find out you just order straight from the menu but you can order as much as you want all for $15.00---including mimosas and bloody mary's. The french toast is wonderful!!! After breakfast we all 4 hung by the pool AGAIN!! We also decided that we would head down and check out the waves today. Let me just tell you they were crazy!!! They hit really close to the shore so you have to get out passed them. That wasn't too hard until they washed Stephanie and I both back up towards the shore. The problem is that they don't wash you all the way up so you get half way and then they just keep coming and pushing you under. It was somewhat scary for a bit. I know for sure that I went under 3 times in a row. That evening we decided to stay on the property and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Pitahaya's.
Thursday-June 18: The guys played golf again today so Stephanie and I decided we would spend some time in the spa. We both got a massage and facial which were wonderful! I know you are going to be surprised but when we finished that we spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool! At 8pm we made our way over to http://www.opentable.com/rest_profile.aspx?rid=7364 where we were meeting some friends of Mat and Stephanie for dinner. Our table was outside overlooking the sea and it was beautiful! We had a great time meeting their friends and enjoyed another delicious dinner.
Friday-June 19: You guessed it....today we spent the entire day by the pool! Around 4pm the guys headed into Cabo San Lucas to catch the UT baseball game while Stephanie and I relaxed by the pool a bit more. We headed in at 7pm to meet them for dinner at Edith's. It was a bit pricey but the atmopshere was great--we ate under the palapa with twinkling lights everywhere.
Saturday-June 20 (Stephanie's birthday!): We had another yummy buffet breakfast at Girasole's before taking a taxi to the airport. That place was a mad house!!! We were there 2 1/2 hours early but actually had plenty of time. Mat and Stephanie actually had the longest time getting checked in but they still had an hour before their flight took off. There isn't too much in the airport in terms of food. When I sent Cory to get me some french fries and it took him almost 45 min (waiting in line) I began to get a little nervous. I felt so bad that he waited that long.
We had a wonderful time on our trip and are so thankful that Cory's parents let us use the week AND kept Colton. We only called to check once maybe twice every day--we knew he was in good hands so we weren't really concerned. I know he had a wonderful time!
Love,

Sounds like a wonderful vacation! I was amused that you went to a Sam's and a Walmart while there! The pictures are great and it looks like a beautiful place.
I'm glad that you were able to enjoy a much-needed break and come home relaxed and refreshed!
sounds like a great trip...we went to Cabo a few years ago and enjoyed it too. We stayed at the Westin...we loved The Office...I have a picture of it framed in my real "office" and after a long day I look at it and think how cool that office was! Also we enjoyed Cabo Wabo and Edith's.
